Civic-Values List

Civic-Values Listserv

Established in 1994 as a joint project of the Institute for the Study of Civic Values and the Center for Civic Networking, civic-values supports an ongoing national--even international--dialogue on public issues, especially as they relate to the basic principles of American democracy.

The framework of the discussion is guided by the philosophy of civic idealism advanced by ISCV--with an emphasis on building community, expanding opportunity, and strengthening democracy. The participants in civic-values share a commitment to both  grassroots organizing and activist government in working to achieve our historic ideals, but there is ongoing debate on the list as to the most effective strategies needed to achieve these goals.
